Positive: The property and stone house are exceptional. The house is located in a town that was abandoned after the 1962 earthquake, which destroyed many buildings in this part of the Dalmatian Coast. The owner's son, a master builder, restored the home from the ground up, and did a spectacular job. It is simply beautiful and charming. It is located amongst the ruins of the village and is a peaceful place with gorgeous vistas of the Dalmatian Coast and its massive rocky outcroppings. The inside of the house is utterly charming, with two full bedrooms and bathrooms, both of which are upstairs on the first and second floors. There is a half bath on the ground floor with a washing machine. I feel so fortunate that I had the opportunity to stay here with my husband for two weeks in May. The weather was beautiful and we made excursions to the Peljesac and into Makarska and the nearby villages. My husband went to the Skywalk in a tuktuk and enjoyed it immensely. I stayed in the stone house as the road was a bit too narrow and tucked into the edge of the hill with steep drops all the way up. Divna, our host, was delightful. She filled us in on the history of the village, her own family's history, and was warm and hospitable from the moment of first contact.
Negative: Internet was spotty at times. While we loved being away from the crowds, the property might be too isolated for some people. For us, it was perfect.
